This mid-level role will be responsible for managing project timelines, resource allocation, and team collaboration to ensure successful execution of cutting-edge research and development initiatives.
This role will support both the Innovation R&D team and will be embedded within the fast-growing Operations & Innovation Program Management Office (PMO), reporting to the Director of Innovation Program Management (PMO).
The ideal candidate has exceptional written and verbal communication, strong project management skills, an understanding of R&D and innovation processes within compounding, pharma, cosmetics, OTC, or supplements, a positive and solutions-oriented thinker, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
This role will be responsible for managing teams remotely as well as on-site. This is a remote role with regular travel (up to 25% of the time) to our compounding pharmacies located in Gilbert, Arizona, and Columbus, Ohio.
You will:
Support Innovation Execution: Project manage multiple concurrent R&D innovation initiatives, ensuring cross-functional alignment with defined timelines, budgets, and milestones.
Coordinate Key Workstreams: Assist with the planning and tracking of activities across benchtop formulation, pilot testing, equipment and tooling, lab operations, and production readiness.
Maintain Project Plans: Build and manage detailed timelines and schedules, coordinating deliverables across R&D, Engineering, Operations, Product, Quality, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams.
Facilitate Team Communication: Schedule and lead meetings, track action items, and share status updates to help ensure project clarity and transparency across stakeholder groups.
Monitor Progress and Risks: Track project performance against key milestones, flag potential delays or bottlenecks, and work with stakeholders to help resolve issues efficiently.
Ensure Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise between departments to keep project teams aligned on scope, goals, and execution needs — especially when supporting innovation efforts that require cross-team input and signoff.
Standardize Innovation Workflows: Support the development and refinement of project management templates, tools, and best practices to improve team efficiency and repeatability.
Support Launch Coordination: Help organize and track the cross-functional work required for launch readiness, including documentation, training materials, and internal communication.
You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
5+ years of project management experience, preferably in an R&D or innovation environment.
Strong understanding of product development lifecycles and innovation methodologies within compounding, pharma, cosmetics, OTC, or supplement R&D
Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Asana, Trello, or MS Project.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or Stage-Gate methodologies is a plus.
