About the Role:
The Communications team at Hims & Hers is responsible for shaping how the world sees and understands our company, and our category. We help define the narrative, build trust, and drive adoption of our platform. As we build the next generation of personalized healthcare, our team plays a critical role in ensuring our work is understood by policymakers, regulators, industry stakeholders, and the public.
We’re looking for a Director of Policy and Trust Communications to lead strategic storytelling at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and regulation. In this role, you’ll develop and execute proactive communications that elevate Hims & Hers' voice in policy conversations, explain the impact of our care model, and build understanding and trust across government, media, and industry stakeholders. You’ll partner closely with the government affairs, legal, and medical teams, and support executive visibility and advocacy efforts.
You thrive in a fast-moving, high-impact environment. You know how to translate complex policy and regulatory issues into clear, accessible narratives. You’re comfortable working independently and cross-functionally, and you bring experience shaping public perception and navigating high-stakes communications for companies operating in regulated spaces.
You Will:
Build and lead an integrated policy communications strategy that supports Hims & Hers’ regulatory, legal, and government affairs goals
Craft narratives that make our business model, clinical approach, and regulatory position clear and credible to press, policymakers, and the public
Lead proactive campaigns that educate, influence, and shape the conversation around telehealth, safety, access to care, and the future of healthcare
Develop high-impact communications materials including messaging frameworks, press statements, policy blogs, executive remarks, and op-eds
Serve as a strategic communications partner to the government affairs and safety teams on emerging issues and regulatory challenges
Support executive communications and visibility efforts, particularly in high-stakes public policy, safety and industry forumsManage high-pressure, high-stakes issues and support real-time crisis response planning and execution
You Have:
10+ years of experience in policy, corporate, or regulatory communications, ideally in highly regulated, consumer-facing, or healthcare-related industries
Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, legal, or a related field is often preferred
Preferably based in Washington, D.C., or San Francisco, with strong familiarity and presence in the policy and regulatory landscape
Proven ability to communicate complex legal, regulatory, safety, and policy concepts to non-expert audiences in a compelling and accessible way
Track record of managing high-stakes issues and crafting proactive strategies that build trust, mitigate risk, and shape public perception
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong editorial judgment and a high bar for quality and clarity
Comfortable working closely with legal, government affairs, and executive leadership in fast-moving, nuanced environments
Experience working across both traditional and new media, with a deep understanding of the landscape and strong relationships across the policy press
