The Commercial Finance & DCS COE provides Decision Making and FP&A Support to Global Commercial, Commercial Finance and Digital Commercial Strategy Organizations.

As part of the COE support group, we are looking for a Senior Specialist, Financial Planning & Commercial Support

This role provides a unique opportunity to work across multiple geographies closely partnering with key stakeholders both at Global and Corporate level as well as providing financial insight and analytics to support key business decisions.

With an entrepreneurial mindset, he/she will be bringing a financial perspective into supporting the overall strategic and tactical decision making while using smart tools and innovative processes.

Responsibilities

Business Partnering

  • Acting as Finance Business Partner for the Market Access, Market Insights & Analytics and Marketing Operations teams within the Digital Commercial Strategy Organization.

  • Actively explore new ways of working in collaboration with stakeholders even outside of finance teams that can drive value for our customers focusing on Business Support / analytics.

Management Reporting

  • Oversee and understand financials to provide comprehensive analyses on a timely basis along with executive summaries for all relevant stakeholders.

  • Responsible for analyzing Profit and Loss, variances vs. plan / forecast / prior years, and headcount.

  • Actively lead, participate, and coordinate budgeting and forecasting process along with the long-range operating plan. Develop Planning and Forecasting guidance and brief leadership on Actual Results, Budget, and Forecast financials.

  • Provide (and / or maintain) Business Unit Financial Scorecards and Key Performance Metrics. Prepare presentations and provide critical input for various meetings and discussions.

  • Partner with key stakeholders by providing relevant decision support or presentation material

Financial Operations

  • Responsible for expense management and general financial support activities including monthly close process and accruals.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely submission of financial entries working with the DCS CoE Finance team and Enterprise Shared Services.

  • Evaluate, build and implement new processes and tools that solve internal stakeholder problems and that improve our efficiency and effectiveness

  • Ensure alignment and integration of other functional support groups (e.g., Procurement, Commercial Operations, etc.) into Functional plans to ensure realization of the stated strategic intent.

  • Support departmental initiatives and ad hoc reporting / analysis.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Background Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Business Administration / Commerce / Finance related University degree

  • MBA or equivalent a plus

  • Fluent in English (proficiency level)

Qualifications:

  • Experienced professional with at least 3 years of operations or finance experience

  • Ability to work in a virtual team setting

  • Drives results with a proven track record and demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment

  • Clear, courageous and effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated and can work in a stressful environment

  • Excellent analytical skills, proven track record in project and line responsibilities.

  • Business acumen and intellectual curiosity.

  • Accustomed to working independently and self-organized

  • Capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence; ability to work with various stakeholders across functions and countries

Primary technical skills include but are not limited to:

  • Organon Financial systems and Enterprise processes deep knowledge as well as experienced user of enterprise planning and forecasting applications

  • Strong SAC-P, SAP, EDW experience and strong Excel / PowerPoint skills

  • Familiarity with US GAAP
