Job Description
The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer with deep expertise in Red Hat Ansible to design, implement, and maintain automation solutions across Organon’s infrastructure and application environments. The ideal candidate has a strong background in configuration management, infrastructure as code (IaC), DevOps, and automation across cloud and on-premises hosting environments with a passion for streamlining operations to improve efficiency.
Responsibilities
Design and develop Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules to automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational tasks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement scalable solutions.
Maintain and enhance existing Ansible automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
Integrate Ansible with other tools such as Bitbucket (Git), Bitbucket Pipelines (CI/CD), and ServiceNow (ITSM).
Ensure compliance with security and operational policies through automated enforcement.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation scripts and infrastructure deployments.
Document automation processes, standards, and best practices.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on automation techniques and tools.
Manage and upgrade Ansible Automation Platform.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
3+ years’ experience in automation engineering or DevOps roles
Proficiency in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell
Experience with version control systems (Git), CI/CD tools, and infrastructure provisioning
Understanding of networking, virtualization, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and GCP)
Familiarity with Linux and Windows systems administration
Exposure to ITIL practices and enterprise service management platforms
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
Red Hat certification in Ansible Automation Platform
Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM Templates
Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and AI technologies
Life Science industry experience
