Our mission at Oura is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We've helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.

Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.

Ōura is looking for an exceptional Staff Product Designer to define the future of Connected Care experiences that connect Oura members with clinical and health partners, spanning virtual care, condition management, and more. You'll establish the strategic frameworks, interaction patterns, and long-term vision that make care trustworthy, scalable, and seamless across partners and use cases, while driving the evolution of Human Care experiences including privacy, data sharing, and health insights.

This work calls for a design leader who thrives in ambiguity and cross-functional complexity, elevates design quality across teams, cares deeply about craft and member trust, and is excited to shape the future of connected healthcare experiences through strategic influence and systems thinking.

This is a hybrid role in San Francisco.

What you will do

  • Define and lead the strategy for end-to-end Connected Care experiences — from entry points like Health Panel triggers, Advisor referrals, and notifications through partner handoffs, consent and data-sharing flows, and post-visit feedback loops — ensuring members feel informed, empowered, and in control at every step.
  • Establish reusable UX frameworks, interaction models, and design patterns that scale Connected Care across multiple partners, products, and future use cases, creating a foundation that enables the organization to launch new experiences efficiently.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Legal/Privacy, Science, Commercial, and Design to shape the long-term direction of Human Care, influencing product strategy, evolving the design system, and raising the bar for craft and execution across the platform.
  • Mentor designers, influence design direction beyond your immediate product area, and help establish best practices that elevate the organization.

Requirements

You would be a great fit for our team if you have:

  • 8+ years designing across a range of digital surfaces, with deep experience leading complex, multi-step user flows, platform experiences, and ecosystem or integration-heavy products.
  • Demonstrated experience designing consent, data-sharing, or trust-sensitive experiences, with exceptional ability to make complex systems feel clear, intuitive, and trustworthy.
  • Proven track record of leading highly ambiguous 0→1 initiatives, setting product direction, and influencing strategy across multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Mastery of Figma and modern prototyping tools.
  • Portfolio demonstrating exceptional systems thinking, hands-on design craft, strategic leadership, and the ability to drive impact from vision through execution.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across disciplines, organizations, and time zones without direct authority.

We love

  • Curiosity for emerging technology and healthcare models, amplified by excellent design craft and systems thinking
  • Commitment to inclusive and accessible products, especially in the context of health and care experiences
  • A passion for clear, trustworthy experiences that help members understand what's happening with their data and what to do next
  • Experience (or strong interest) in healthcare, clinical, or wellness products (e.g., telehealth, care navigation, EHR integrations)
