Campus Coordinator Outreach Intern – Fargo, ND
Pay: $17 per hour
Schedule: Part-time, 5 hours per week
Shift times: Variable between Monday and Friday, 9am-5pm for virtual or in-person weekly check-ins and additional tasks such as campus tabling. Some weekend and evening hours will be required for events.
Location: 624 Maine Avenue, Suite 9, Fargo, ND 58102
Job type: Non-Exempt
Travel: To and from Fargo office, outreach activities, campuses, and occasional special events within the Fargo-Moorhead area on a weekly basis.

Job Summary:
Under immediate supervision of the North Dakota State Director, External Affairs, the Campus Outreach Coordinator Intern will carry out a variety of tasks related to recruitment of volunteers, education of the public about Planned Parenthood services and programming, and implementation of outreach activities for college students. The Campus Outreach Coordinator Intern will assist in planning and execution of volunteer engagement events and outreach activities on the Fargo-Moorhead area campuses and in the wider Fargo-Moorhead community. Some of the assigned duties include collaborating with the North Dakota Planned Parenthood North Central States team in the planning of outreach activities, assisting with recruitment for events and programming, attending weekly team meetings, tabling at various events throughout the year, entry of data, and working on special projects as assigned by the North Dakota State Director. Campus Outreach Coordinator Interns are advocates in implementing our mission of “advancing and protecting sexual and reproductive healthcare for all.” They may perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn about sexual and reproductive health topics.
- Interest in engaging in social justice activism, including racial justice, reproductive justice, and queer justice.
- Able to communicate effectively with college students.
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Supports Planned Parenthood’s mission.
Learning Objectives:
- Outreach best practices
- Reproductive rights and sex education knowledge and advocacy
- Health issues facing college students, specifically womxn and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals
- Event/campaign preparation, recruitment, and facilitation
- Knowledge of reproductive rights and sexual health programs and nonprofit operations.
- Increased collaboration with local activists’ groups and organizations
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Meet weekly with the North Dakota State Director to plan outreach events and activities and execute other outreach tasks.
- Assist in preparing for, recruiting for, and facilitation of volunteer engagement events.
- Assist in administrative tasks that support the programming of the North Dakota team, such as database entry, email communications, and preparation of event materials.
- Execute organizing strategies for Get Out the Vote efforts. Tactics could include phone banking, door-to-door canvassing, and more.
- Support and promote local Planned Parenthood health centers in coordination with staff.
- Assist in coordinating and carrying out advocacy and other outreach campaigns for college students.
- Network and collaborate with existing and emerging groups on local college campuses that support the mission of Planned Parenthood.
- Research events on local campuses which we could table or otherwise participate in.
- Secure and staff ongoing tabling opportunities in the Student Union(s) and other high traffic areas at local college campuses.
- Take part in staff development and education on health disparities, anti-racism, and reproductive justice.
- Organize one campus community event highlighting reproductive and sexual health issues.
- Check in with supervisor regularly via meetings, video or phone calls, emails, texts, etc.
- Attend and assist with special events, such as Progress on the Prairie.
- Other duties as assigned.
