The Systems Analyst role directly supports this through the analysis, design, and optimization of our API and business services ecosystem to ensure seamless integration and data flow across our platform. Responsibilities
In this role, you will primarily support the API & Business Services team, which serves as the centralized integration and data services layer for the company, enabling secure and scalable access to internal and external systems. Your goals include improving system reliability, reducing integration complexity, and helping to support the effective team sport that is solutions engineering at Progyny.
What you'll do…
Work directly with engineering pods to identify system requirements and document integration patterns
Analyze and design API patterns and microservices architectures to support business needs
Create and maintain technical documentation including system diagrams, data flow maps, and API specifications
Translate business processes and requirements into technical specifications
Support the evolution of our business services platform through continuous optimization
Identify integration points across complex platforms and recommend improvements
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and regulations
Analyze system dependencies and propose solutions to reduce integration complexity
Support authentication and authorization pattern implementations across services
Contribute to observability and monitoring requirements for system health
About you…
5+ years in Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, or Technical Analysis roles for a moderate-to-large sized software engineering organization
Experience with API design patterns and microservices architecture is a must (REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI, service boundaries, etc.)
Solid experience with data modeling and integration patterns (ETL/ELT, data flows, schema design, etc.)
3+ years working with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, eligibility systems)
Deep experience with requirements gathering and technical documentation (system diagrams, data flow maps, API specifications)
3+ years working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and understanding of cloud-native architectures
Proven ability to analyze system dependencies and identify integration points across complex platforms
Proven experience with authentication and authorization patterns (OIDC, OAuth, RBAC, etc.)
Demonstrable knowledge of database design and data warehouse concepts
Experience with observability and monitoring system requirements
Familiarity with API gateway patterns and service mesh architectures
Experience analyzing business processes and translating them into technical requirements
Demonstrable understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (ex: Healthcare, HIPAA)
Strong SQL skills and experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
Familiarity with SDK design patterns and client library architecture
Comfortability with technical writing and documentation tools
Some experience working in a regulated business environment (ex: Healthcare) is a plus

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $130,000 - $150,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
