At WHOOP, we’re on a mission to unlock human performance and extend healthspan. We empower our members with real-time, longitudinal health insights that help them understand how their daily choices compound over time—enabling better decisions, sustained behavior change, and better long-term health.

WHOOP is hiring a Senior Director, Growth Marketing to lead and scale new member acquisition through performance and external demand channels. Reporting to the VP of Growth, this leader will own WHOOP’s performance marketing and external acquisition programs, overseeing significant growth investment across paid media, affiliates, and partner-driven channels.

This role oversees significant annual growth investment and is responsible for deciding where and how WHOOP deploys marketing capital to acquire new members efficiently. The Senior Director will allocate growth capital to drive incremental acquisition while building the commercial systems that translate marketing investment into predictable bookings outcomes.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a commercially minded growth operator with deep performance marketing expertise, strong financial judgment, and a disciplined approach to experimentation and incrementality. The role partners closely with Product, Lifecycle Marketing, and Finance to ensure acquisition investment is efficient, measurable, and scalable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own acquisition forecasting, target setting, and growth capital allocation across performance marketing and external demand channels.
  • Lead and scale WHOOP’s performance marketing across paid media channels such as Meta, Google, and emerging platforms, managing significant annual marketing investment to drive incremental new member acquisition.
  • Identify and scale new incremental acquisition channels beyond core paid media, including partnerships, affiliate ecosystems, ambassador programs, and other external demand sources.
  • Serve as the primary partner to Finance on growth planning, ensuring tight alignment between acquisition targets, budgets, payback expectations, and operating plans.
  • Establish clear measurement and incrementality frameworks for growth marketing investments, leveraging experimentation, holdouts, and cohort analysis to guide capital allocation decisions.
  • Define and govern acquisition go-to-market strategy, including promotional frameworks, partner incentives, and channel sequencing to maximize incremental member growth.
  • Partner closely with Growth Product and Lifecycle Marketing (LCM) to ensure acquisition investment aligns with product experimentation, conversion optimization, and owned-channel execution.
  • Build executive-ready growth narratives and performance readouts, clearly communicating performance trends, risks, tradeoffs, and opportunities to executive leadership.
  • Act as the growth arbiter across acquisition investments, making disciplined decisions about where to scale, cap, or reallocate marketing spend based on marginal ROI and growth targets.
  • Design and lead a high-functioning Growth Marketing team, establishing strong operating rhythms, planning processes, and accountability for growth outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Substantial experience leading growth, performance marketing, commercial strategy, and/or revenue planning within high-scale consumer or subscription businesses

  • Deep hands-on experience managing performance marketing at meaningful spend levels across paid social, paid search, and other digital acquisition channels.

  • Proven track record scaling direct-to-consumer customer acquisition through performance marketing and external demand channels.

  • Demonstrated experience owning large marketing budgets and allocating capital across multiple acquisition channels.

  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, with experience owning forecasts, budgets, and growth targets in partnership with Finance.

  • Deep understanding of incrementality measurement, experimentation design, and cohort-based performance analysis.

  • Experience identifying, testing, and scaling new acquisition channels such as affiliates, partnerships, creator ecosystems, or ambassador programs.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to partner effectively with Product, Marketing, and Finance leaders.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making ability in fast-moving, data-rich environments.

  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams that operate with urgency, rigor, and accountability.

  • Deep belief in WHOOP’s mission to unlock human performance and extend healthspan, with excitement for building durable growth systems at scale.
