About the role

Elektra is looking for a seasoned full-stack founding Lead Engineer to join our founding team and build our next-generation menopause digital solution. If you are a user-centric, mission-oriented engineering leader who thrives in an early-stage startup environment, this is the perfect role for you.

As the founding engineer, you will:

• Work directly with the CEO alongside a mission-obsessed, tight-knit team to guide the engineering strategy for the company
• Partner with the Director of Product to define and deliver the end-to-end experience
• Lead the architecture, design and development of our new digital platform, from system design and vendor assessments to writing code
• Define the engineering culture and introduce software development practices
• Recruit, develop and retain top engineering talent
• Mentor and manage best in class full-stack, front-end and mobile engineers

You will report directly to the CEO, and work closely with our product, marketing & growth and clinical operations teams. Join us to make an impact on women throughout this time in their lives by empowering members through menopause education, care and community!

About you

• 7-10 years of engineering experience with at least 2 years in a lead role managing others’ work output
• Demonstrated track record of architecting and developing full-stack code for scale, performance, availability and security on both web and mobile
• Experience at a high-growth, fast-paced startup
• Has an entrepreneurial, user-centric and mission-driven mindset; excited by Elektra’s values and motivated by the opportunity to build and scale a successful commercial venture in the women’s health space
• Excited to think broadly and strategically coupled with the desire to directly implement projects and tasks
• Being a self-starter and fast learner who is comfortable with ambiguity and breaking down complex issues into manageable plans
• Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Nice to have: HIPAA or equivalent compliance experience

Preferred tech stack experience

• Experience with React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js
• Experience building relational databases
• Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud
• Able to establish and apply software engineering best practices, QA, etc.

• Location: NYC preferred as that’s where the founding team is based, but we’re open to remote for the right candidate.
