Helaina is a VC-backed biotech startup creating a new category of functional food products.

Our vision is to bring the functional properties of human proteins to food. Helaina will be the first company to put human milk proteins into food, defining a new category of consumer nutrition products focused on supporting immunity. We will initially launch a first-of-its-kind infant formula – the only infant formula with immune-nourishing proteins found in human milk. We also see a range of opportunities to use our breast milk proteins to enhance other types of functional foods for all segments of the population.

About The Role

Helaina is looking for a Head of Brand Marketing & Communications to build brand presence and community for Helaina ahead of our first product launch. In this leadership position you will translate existing brand strategy work into meaningful, executable multi-channel marketing plans, applying your expertise to help shape and execute on our go-to-market strategy.

What You’ll Do

  • Bring the brand to life, leading development and execution of a multi-channel marketing strategy for go-to-market of our first product, infant formula 
  • Build Helaina’s community of parents, medical practitioners, and other key stakeholders
  • Drive the buildout of our digital presence and roadmap for content strategy
  • Conduct customer and competitor research to inform strategies and campaigns 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders on go-to-market initiatives, and manage external agency partners 
  • Set and manage OKRs for brand marketing activity, measuring performance and iterating as we learn and grow 
  • Ensure consistency and cohesiveness of brand across all touchpoints with Helaina

About You

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including meaningful experience in a rapid growth environment for a consumer brand
  • Interest in both strategic planning and tactical execution - this is a “roll up your sleeves” “no job too small” kind of role
  • Past success building and scaling a brand before product launch, driving awareness across all relevant channels and building community for key audiences
  • Deep understanding of influencer marketing, partnerships, community-building
  • Experience managing agency partners and internal team members
  • Effective communicator who speaks, listens, and write in a clear and concise manner
  • Comfort working in a rapidly growing and evolving organization
  • Strong support for Helaina’s mission

  • Terms of employment: Full-time, non-exempt
  • Location: NYC or Remote; United States
